This Project is funded by the Government of Canada. Services offered at this location: Assistance through the Employment Advisor for both job seekers and employers regarding job development, employment counseling, assessing and applying for Service Canada Programs. Programs financially benefit the employee and the employer (wage subsidy, training, self-employment). Workshops and Job Finding Employment Programs are also available. Self-help resources include computers and library for resume/cover letter writing and internet job searches. Job Connect is a program run by Sir Sandford Fleming College to assist youth with employment planning and finding jobs, resume writing, interview skills, etc. Assists employers by matching to fill positions and by providing training subsidies.

Northern Lights Vocational Services was established in 1985 in response to requests from the Ministry of Community and Social Services (VRS program) for the provision of short-term vocational assessment, training, and job placement services in rural and remote areas of Eastern and Central Ontario. The company was designed to operate on a fee for service basis in the private sector. Initial referrals came from Vocational Rehabilitation Services (MCSS), Workers' Compensation Board, & insurance companies.
